STEAM: Tinkering & Mechanics
with Mr. Jason
Friday. @ 1:00
Fall 2024 semester dates: Weeks of September 2 - December 13
(No class on the week of October 6 or Nov. 25)
In this class students will learn how things work. From taking something apart, and putting it back together correctly, to using their imagination for inspiration to create a project from scratch. Students will learn to follow written directions, or verbal and visual instruction. This will hone their active listening skills along with follow through to the end of a project. Students will learn how electricity works and will learn how to test a circuit through troubleshooting using a multimeter to double check their work.
There are a multitude of projects that challenge student's patience and improve dexterity with a hands-on approach. Students will work on projects that will last from one day, to multiple weeks. Some projects will be easier than others, depending on skill level (or if they need a reprieve from the previous project). However, I will be there to guide them and encourage them on their journey. Familiarization of tools and how to use them will be a key part in their success. Busy minds and hands are key to development of confidence and personal drive.
Grade: 4-9
Cost: $290
