Literature for Mid-Grades
with Mrs. Jamie
Thursdays @ 3:00
Fall 2024 semester dates: Weeks of September 2 - December 13
(No class on the week of October 6 or Nov. 25)
In our Literature for Mid-Grades class, students will read three classic books which reflect some of the different struggles faced by youth throughout time. This semester the books that we will be reading are: Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank and The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie.
We will learn from these books through hands-on projects, work sheets, and engaging discussions. We will break the books down and analyze what we are reading. Students will gain confidence in themselves as they complete these amazing books while developing a true understanding of what they read. When we truly understand the books that we read they become a part of us and can influence our lives in a myriad of ways.
Students should have a copy of both books to bring to class.
Grades: 5-9
Cost: $265
