Get ready to unleash your inner chef in our exciting food prep class, where students will embark on a culinary adventure filled with delicious recipes, essential kitchen skills, and a dash of creativity. From mastering food safety and handling tools to whipping up mouthwatering treats like edible cookie dough, fruit dip, ambrosia, and sugar cookies, students will learn the art of cooking while satisfying their sweet tooth and expanding their culinary repertoire.
Safety is our top priority in the kitchen, and students will begin by learning the importance of proper food handling and hygiene practices. Through interactive demonstrations and hands-on activities, they'll gain essential knowledge on preventing foodborne illnesses and ensuring a safe cooking environment. Next, students will dive into the world of kitchen tools and equipment, learning how to utilize knives, measuring cups, mixing bowls, and other essentials with confidence and precision.
With guidance from our amazing instructor, students will master basic cooking techniques and develop the skills needed to tackle any recipe with ease. Throughout the class, students will cultivate teamwork, problem-solving skills, and creativity as they work together to create culinary masterpieces. They'll also gain confidence in their cooking abilities and develop a lifelong love of experimenting with flavors and textures in the kitchen. Note: Many of the recipes for this class will be a repeat from the previous semester.
Items that need to be baked will be sent home for your family to enjoy fresh out of the oven.
